Our mission
Mission of the Estonian Agrenska Foundation
The Estonian Agrenska Foundation is a modern counseling and development center for disabled children, young people and their families in Estonia. Estonian Agrenska Foundation is developing assistance facilities that support not only the disabled child, but above all his family as a whole. To fulfill our goals, we have created the Tammistu Family Center.
The main support services of the Estonian Agrenska Foundation are family counseling, childcare and support person services for children with severe and profound disabilities, to allow their family time off, time for themselves and participation in the labor market. We also provide rehabilitation services for many years and organize family camps and family days for families with children and young people with disabilities.
We offer subsistence and job training and working in the Tammistu Manor Job Training Unit in our protected environment. Sheltered work helps young people with disabilities to grow into adulthood and achieve the best possible independence and opportunity for a meaningful life.
We are also a center of competence for rare diseases, trying to develop a support system for families so that they will not be left alone if their child has been diagnosed with a rare disease (we provide support through counseling, round tables, information days). The Estonian Agrenska Foundation is also a practice base where students of the University of Tartu and Tartu Health Care College and others can gain valuable experience in helping out disabled children in summer camps.
All in all, our goal is to develop the capacity to counsel, support, provide families and children with severe and profound disabilities a range of social services from childhood to adulthood, and for as long as necessary. The activities of the Estonian Agrenska Foundation are based on the principle of equal opportunities for people with disabilities.
The patron of the Estonian Agrenska Foundation is Kersti Kaljulaid, President of the Republic of Estonia.
The development work at the Tammistu Family Center of the Estonian Agrenska Foundation is part of the Tartu Regional Development Plan.
